On Jan. 31, two students reported being kissed without their consent while walking near the Park Street station on Boston Common, and another student reported a similar incident while riding the train from Central Square to Park Street, according to an Emerson College press release.
Carole McFall, Emerson’s associate vice president and director of media relations, said the college released a statement to The Boston Globe after a reporter inquired about the incidents and whether the students were safe.
“The students are safe,” wrote McFall in the statement, shared with the Beacon. “Emerson College provided the students with information about on and off campus support resources and offered the students our support.”
The Emerson College Police Department shared information with the MBTA Transit Police, which is investigating the incidents, according to McFall.
Joe Pesaturo, a spokesman for the MBTA Transit Police, told the Beacon on Wednesday that the incident is still under investigation.
“MBTA Transit Police are working in cooperation with Emerson College Police,” wrote Pesaturo in an email.
The reports gained local media attention from The Boston Globe, NECN, and BostInno.
